The following gear and brand is the trusted dog gear I use when it comes to hiking, camping, biking, basically all outdoor activities. I have been using Ruffwear since before becoming an ambassador for the brand. That was why I became an ambassador, because I was already using the gear for over a year and just loved how durable and high quality everything was. There wasn’t anything else on the market that could compare.

I know it can be hard to know what and who to trust when it comes to social media influencers and ambassadors. Something that I have always taken pride in, is working with companies, brands, and/or products that I use and works for what our lifestyle is. In addition, using the products during times or activities that also make sense for us.

Web Master Harness

Update August 2023: My opinion on the Web Master Harness hasn’t changed. It is still my favourite harness. I absolutely love the newer colour, Blaze Orange. This is perfect for fall/winter seasons, when it gets darker on the trails. The bright colour makes it easy to see and identify your dog.

My most used and absolutely favourite piece of gear, the one thing I can’t live without is the Web Master Harness. I have had these harnesses on my dogs, as well as, my client dogs that I hiked for over 5 years. I have never had to replace my dogs harnesses to date. What I love most about these harnesses is they are lightweight, sturdy, have a handle and 2 straps under the chest making is secured to the dog and better comfort if needing to use the handle.

I have a dog ID tag attached the these harnesses, as well as, a bell. The bell is so we are creating sound for any potential wildlife around us, but also so other trail users can hear us too.

Cali wears a size XS. She can fit a size S as well.

Kona and Loot wear a size S

Ruger wears a size M

I recommend following the size chart, as it is quite accurate.

Flagline Harness

The Flagline Harness has been growing on me, especially with the girls as they get older and Kona not liking to be touched. The Flagline is great that there is more chest support and 4 clips so you do not have to pull a leg through in order to put the harness on.

Sun Shower

The Sun Shower is the rain jacket I use for the dogs. I find this jacket fits my dogs the best. It has a longer fit along the back providing more coverage. The older model of the jacket pictured below, I still have and use, 9 years later.

The Sun Shower has now been upgraded. I still love the older version. The new version has a lot more coverage which is always a benefit.

Climate Changer

I use the Climate Changer most when camping. During some seasons it is more necessary with how cold it gets at night. However, other times it is more necessary for me so there is less dog hair in the tent and in the bedding or sleeping bag. I have allergies so keeping hair contained to as much of a minimum as possible makes a big difference.

The Climate Changer is a technical fleece and has front leg short sleeves. A zipper down the length of the sweater. It is easy to put on and take off of the dogs. This sweater has a longer fit which I very much like so that again, there is more coverage on the dog.

Cali and Kona wear Smalls. Ruger a medium. Loot also wears a medium. He was in-between sizes and I sized up. it ended up being a little too baggy on his belly and he’d pee on it, so I just folded the hemline in a little bit and sewed it. You’d never and it fixed our problem and fits great.

Clear Lake Blanket

I use the Clear Lake Blanket for camping because it is large enough to fit 2 of my dogs comfortably at camp, around the fire, or added onto of our bedding in the tent.

The Clear Lake Blanket is an insulated blanket to add warmth and some added comfort for our spoiled dogs while camping. The blanket is also water resistant which is perfect for our rainy seasons.

Unfortunately, this blanket is no longer available, but it is still one of our favourites for camping.

Powder Hound

During the winter, either really cold days or in the snow, I love using the Powder Hound Jacket. It’s the perfect jacket for winter backpacking, snowshoeing and keeping the dogs warm.

Kona and Cali wear a small.

Ruger and Loot wear a medium.

Polar trex winter boots

We have tried a lot of different boots. The ones that fit the best and stay on best have been the Polar Trex. I use them with the Bark’N Boot Socks. In an hour run all but 1 of the boots stayed on. On the way back we found the boot. For running for an hour straight, I would say, to only loose one boot is pretty amazing.
